Roof trusses

Are you looking for a roof truss?

Roof truss

The roof truss is a key element of every roof, constituting its foundation and ensuring stability and durability. The roof truss is roof structure, on which other important elements are mounted, such as roof coverings, roof battens, counter battens and gutter system, which together are responsible for the tightness and durability of the roof.

Thanks to the solid roof truss, roof maintains its shape and resistance to changing weather conditions. Our sawmill specializes in the production of high-quality roof trusses that can be adapted to various types of buildings – from classic single-family houses to large industrial halls.

Choosing the right type of roof truss is crucial for the durability and safety of the structure. Depending on the specific climatic conditions and the characteristics of the building, different types of roof trusses are selected. A properly designed roof truss ensures stability and safety for many years, so it is worth consulting experts on choosing the best solution.

Roof truss functions

The roof truss performs several basic functions that determine the safety and durability of the roof:

  • Structural stability: The roof truss is the framework of the roof that holds all the structural elements, such as wooden battens, counter battens and roof covering, in the right places, ensuring the stability of the roof even in difficult weather conditions. A roof without a solid truss loses its protective function and may be damaged.
  • Load transfer: The truss structure evenly distributes the weight of the roof and additional loads resulting from snowfall, rain or strong winds onto the load-bearing walls of the building. This prevents the roof from deforming or collapsing under the influence of weight. Therefore, it is important that the truss is made of suitably durable materials.

Building protection: A solid roof truss protects the building from harmful weather conditions, ensuring the tightness of the structure and protection of the interior from moisture. An important protective element is also battens and counterbattens, which support the roof covering and provide additional roof ventilation.

Wood for building roof trusses

The basis of every solid roof truss is properly selected wood. Our sawmill offers roof trusses made of the highest quality wood, such as:

    • Pine – a popular and durable material that is easy to process and highly resistant to changing weather conditions. Pine is often chosen for building roof trusses due to its availability and versatile construction properties.
    • Spruce – wood with good mechanical strength, which works great in roof structures. Spruce is characterized by high flexibility, which makes it an ideal material for rafters and roof beams.
    • Larch – a material characterized by greater resistance to moisture and fungi, ideal for more demanding projects, especially where the roof is exposed to constant contact with water, such as in the case of roofs with a large slope in mountainous regions.
    • The maximum length dimensions that we are able to prepare are 13.5 m.
The maximum cross-section of square timber is: 34 x 34 cm.

Wooden battens and counter battens – key elements of a roof

In addition to the roof truss, the key elements supporting the roof covering are: wooden battens and counter battens. Our sawmill offers both roof battens, What counter battens with dimensions adapted to the project requirements. Battens and counterbattens They perform a load-bearing function for the roof covering and are responsible for proper roof ventilation. The counter battens are laid perpendicularly to the battens, which allows for the creation of a ventilation space between the roof covering and the insulation layer.

Roof truss applications

Roof trusses from our sawmill are used in various types of buildings. We handle projects for both single-family homes and large industrial halls. Our trusses are adapted to the specific structural needs of each building, ensuring optimal stability and durability of the roof. Regardless of whether you are building a traditional house or a modern warehouse, our sawmill will provide the right solutions that will meet your expectations.

Roof truss costs

The price of a roof truss is influenced by factors such as the type of wood used, e.g. pine, spruce, larch, and the dimensions of the ordered elements.

Our sawmill offers competitive prices on roof trusses and roof beams.
